Continuing the Republican tradition of looking out only for himself and letting the common guy get royally screwed, Dick "When's the Next One Already" Cheney made sure he made out quite well financially while at Halliburton, but he let the vast majority of workers lose much of their retirement benefits. Shriveling of Pensions After Halliburton Deal

Too bad this proposed Argentine law wasn't in effect in 2000. Bush would have failed the mental part, and we and the world wouldn't be burdened with him as President now.

As it says at the top of my home page, "Osama bin Laden, the Taliban and Al Qaeda must be eliminated as threats. It's how we do so that defines us as a nation..." So it disgusts me beyond words that the Bush administration marks the one year anniversary of a horrible terrorist attack upon the U.S. by funding terrorists.
U.S., Citing Better Human Rights, Allows Aid to Colombia Military
That's right, we're giving more money to the mass-murdering Colombian military and its state-sponsored terrorist paramilitary wing. Excuse me while I go heave...

Gee, even the New York Times now has to admit that U.S.-fostered neoliberalism has not helped anyone but the very rich in Mexico. Free-Market Upheaval Grinds Mexico's Middle Class

As I keep saying, a system designed by the rich will, unless challenged, only serve to enrich them further at the expense of everyone else.

Hannity & Colmes continued their string of "fair and balanced" solo commentaries tonight: Bill Bennet got two segments, Dan Quayle got two segments, and Democratic Harold Ford got one segment. Four to one, Republican. Very fair and balanced, isn't it?

I've lost a lot of respect for Phil Donahue. If you have a mass murderer on your program like Oliver North, you have to confront him on it every time. Donahue did not last Friday, even when North bragged about his counter-terrrorism expertise. Donahue for Sept. 6

At least Bill O'Reilly when he interviewed North told him that the contras (and Salvadoran government) committed many atrocities. O'Reilly let North slide with an evasive "both sides did bad stuff but it was not contra policy to do so" answer. But at least O'Reilly raised the issue.

Bush officials finally admitting that their frantic opposition to the International Criminal Court isn't to protect US soldiers, but to shield war criminals like Henry Kissinger from prosecution. On World Court, U.S. Focus Shifts to Shielding Officials Incontrovertible proof against the existence of a just God is that mass murderers like Kissinger and Oliver North are running around wealthy and free, whle the hundreds of thousands of innocents they helped murder lie rotting in the ground.

It's no surprise that the congenitally lying pieces of crap who conducted an "official military inquiry" into the an AC-130 attack on an Afghan prewedding party that killed dozens of women and children, found the U.S. blameless. U.S. Blames Taliban for Civilian Deaths in an American Raid The excuse: the AC-130's were attacked by antiaircraft fire. This despite the fact that -- as the inquiry even admitted! -- no signs of antiaircraft weapons, spent cartridges or shell casings were found there hours later when U.S. forces arrived on the site. The real reason for the massacre: chickenshit U.S. commanders who continually order targets hit from so far away that they can't distinguish between military and civilian. Kill civilians, as long as it avoids putting our soldiers in harms way. Cowardly, and awfully close to terrorism, in my opinion.
