Today I'm going to tell you about two of the most important and damning statistics in the world, and then link them to right-wing policies. We'll also try to decide what to call the deadly result of these policies. Is that result properly called terrorism, or just unfathomable violence?
We'll also hear from a listener who abandoned his Republican ideology and adopted a progressive outlook as a result of listening to Blast The Right.
you say "such extreme poverty and death is a deliberate and to be expected result of an economic structure imposed on the world by the western industrialized nations (15:59)." I could be crazy and yes slightly inhumane, but this strikes me as an evoloutionary term called selection. With selection (and im sure you know of evoloution very well.. liberal) individuals try to maximize their lifespan by out-competing their competitors... analogous to our free market capitalism. What you dont speak of is that We're giving aid to African countries to combat a cornucopia of diseases such as malaria (numbering into the hundreds of millions alone for just one disease!). We give aid to countries and to people because their own governments only care for their own needs. Tribes fighting age old wars. The united states is more socialistic towards supporting other worldly populations than any other country whether it be western, eastern, mid eastern, southern or northern. Globalization of trade, of labor and of business is inevitable. Yes, it is unfortunate that some people get left in the dark, but not everyone can benefit. This is a sad fact, but a true fact and, as the world leader, the United States supports poverty stricken people in the world more than any other country. Another stat you throughout is that 20% of the worlds population owns 80% of the worlds wealth. You say this is due to the economic structure set upon the United States and other western states. What you failed to define is where that poor 80% resides in the world. Countries in which their growth rates far exceed any production capacity. Countries where the fast portion of the population is under the age of 15. Countries where a free market economy doesn't exist and, because of culture barriers, never will (dictatorships or communist regimes). You villify an economic system that allows for the creation of funds to distribute money and supplies to countries that need those supplies and monies. Not everyone can be on top, and not everyone can be first. That is the essence of competition and the essence of evoloutionary selection. Why we're chosen to live in this country and not another is of God's choosing and not our own. Be thankful and blessed that you are here. Rather than ridicule and villify a nation that gives you the ability to speak as you do, why dont you do some good and donate your time working for Habitat for Humanity or some other aid organization. It's time better spent than running this rickety website
If it's such a shitty web site then why are you reading it? Yet, another righty that has to support the agenda of the rich and powerful. Stick to writing on sites that really want to hear the same old propaganda and hatred. I'm sure God put you in the States because you are sooo much deserving of anyone else in the world. What crap. When will you people realize that God is not a political strategy but a religion that should be kept to one's self.
Jack
Clark documents the right's wars on the poor,
civil liberties, the right of workers to organize
at work and obtain a decent working wage and work
conditions, and against other countries who refuse
to accept American domination. Jack provides all
the sources so that you can see for yourself how
the right is out to enrich itself at the expense
of everyone else. Great job, Jack!

awesome
show
Clark
always backs up his statements against
the right wing with fact and data, which
gives him all the more credibility.
As conglomerate media controlled by
politics clouds the mainstream news
media, Jack Clark, along with NPR and
Democracy Now! have become my primary
news source. Awesome podcast!

In-Depth,
Meaty, Hardcore Knowledge
This
podcast is not just entertainment, humor,
chimp-bashing, or gee-whiz recap of
the weeks events. Instead, it hits hard
and in-depth on the world economic situation
and how right-wing policies impact the
poor and less advantaged all over the
world. He examines Americas support
of the World Bank, IMF,multinational
corporations, etc., and connects the
dots. This is a podcast for grown-ups.
He gives good reasons why the right
wing is NOT living up to its precious
Bible, without putting down the Bible.
As a Jesus-loving Christian and moderate
Democrat, I respect this podcast for
its subject matter. The grown-up manner
of the speaker is just icing on the
cake. He IS funny, but hes not trying
to be, he just has a deadpan delivery
but doesnt have to make jokes to make
it interesting. The facts make it interesting
and devastating.

A
Breath of Fresh Air
Jack
Clarks Blast the Right podcast is truly
a breath of fresh air when it comes
to political commentary. Jack is not
like some commentators who simply climb
on their soap box and state their own
opinions as fact. Instead, Jack welcomes
competent challenges to his way of thinking,
and with logical analysis and sound
research, debunks the lies, distortions,
and self-deceptions of the right wing.
I strongly recommend Blast the Right
for people who seek the truth and care
more about the long term health and
well-being of the whole citizenry than
the short term personal gain advocated
by modern conservatives. Listen as Jack
carefully shows how the high-sounding
"God and country" rhetoric
of the right wing is really just a smokescreen
for policies that ultimately lead only
to the increased misery, suffering,
and death of the less fortunate for
the particular benefit of the wealthy
and the well-connected. And, if you
find yourself in agreement, return to
Podcast Alley to place your vote! Thanks!
